Half moon qilin scales

The half moon qilin is an ancient desolate beast kept by Northern Plains Zombie Alliance, hard to feed and dangerous enough that ordinary rank six immortal zombies can be injured when its temper turns. Young half moon qilin are born as desolate beasts and grow into ancient desolate beasts with battle strength equivalent to rank seven Gu Immortals. Alliance members fight over the feeding mission near a birth because closeness to the young qilin is a head start before later bidding. ^{ch. 742}

Inside a giant space-path Gu formation filled with desolate and ancient desolate beast corpses, Fang Yuan freezes at what he first takes for a half moon qilin. He notes that Northern Plains Zombie Alliance still raises a living half moon qilin as a treasure of the whole alliance, then checks again and names the corpse a remnant heavenly dog instead. ^{ch. 935}

After accepting poisonous flower petals as payment for one favor, Lang Ya land spirit tells Fang Yuan that next time he hopes to get scales of the half moon qilin, at least thirty of them, or he will refuse further requests. ^{ch. 972}
