Bee wings

Near the edge of a purple-sand desolate land, thin wings pierce the sand. They have no feathers, are half transparent, and look like the wings of cicadas or dragonflies. The remains carry an immemorial desolate beast aura. These cicada wings are extremely tattered, shine like a gem under light, and give off a dark golden glow that Fang Yuan reads as metal path dao marks visible to the naked eye, a foundation at quasi-rank nine. He guesses they may be the wings of the tiger-striped honey bee, a living being recorded in The Legends of Ren Zu. ^{ch. 935}

When he takes the bee wings out, they leave the purple sand undamaged and do not turn into purple sand like the other immortal materials. He judges them remains from an immemorial desolate beast, a rank eight Gu refinement immortal material that can give out dao mark light, and more accurately a quasi-rank nine immortal material. ^{ch. 935}

Fang Yuan notes that this bee wing resembling a tiger-striped honey bee mainly contains metal path dao marks, useful for refining a metal path Immortal Gu, but of no use for refining star thought Immortal Gu. He collects the precious immortal material for later need. ^{ch. 936}

In a later visit to the same purple-sand center, Fang Yuan again collects high-rank immortal materials including the tiger-striped honey bee’s wings among eighteen pieces. ^{ch. 972}

Lang Ya land spirit identifies the wing as that of a tiger-striped honey bee, praises the dense metal path dao mark light visible to naked eyes, and says such pieces are so precious he is barely willing to use the ones he has searched years to gather. ^{ch. 975}
