Acupuncture tree

Acupuncture trees stand around the lake of heavenly dew oasis in Western Desert. The tree is dark green and resembles a human shape with arms and legs; its legs stab into the desert depths to absorb water, while its arms take poses from reaching skyward to lounging on the ground. Hundreds ring the oasis as a first line of defense: ordinary trees ten to twenty feet tall are most numerous, several hundred desolate plant trees rise fifty to sixty feet, and about ten ancient desolate plant trees are large like mountains. At ancient desolate level the trees blossom each year with snow-white petals whose cores show rainbow colors, mostly pink, yellow, and light blue; each petal is a seed that can scatter with the wind. ^{ch. 1778}

Each leaf, branch, and root is a Gu material rich in fire path and wood path dao marks. When a strong enemy attacks, the trees stand like giants, wave their limbs, and fight with strength and sharp needles. In peaceful times they may pierce a favored visitor and inject a spring-like liquid that raises vitality and foundation, eases fatigue and illness, and with regular use can keep a person healthy and extend life. Ignoring the lake itself, the surrounding trees alone make heavenly dew oasis a giant resource point among Western Desert’s top ten oases. ^{ch. 1778}

Fang clan places acupuncture trees at the periphery of heavenly dew oasis as defense because the oasis formation is weaker than Chi clan work and is built mainly to raise heavenly dew production rather than to fortify the site. ^{ch. 1779}
