Huang Jin Mountain

Appearance

The mountain holds many gold mines, and its soil is rich in gold. In daylight the slopes often reflect a hazy golden light, surrounding the mountain in that glow. ^{ch. 241}

Gold mines and two villages

By the time the caravan reaches the base of Huang Jin mountain, Fang Yuan has finished refining crocodile strength Gu. The mountain holds many gold mines; its soil is rich in gold, and filtering mountain-stream sediment can yield dozens of gold granules. In daylight the slopes often reflect a hazy golden light. In this world gold is a metal mineral whose greatest use is as a material for refining Gu, not currency. ^{ch. 241}

Two clans sit on the mountain: Huang village on the southern side and Jin village on the northern side. Like Qing Mao mountain, Huang Clan and Jin Clan are not harmonious. Both welcome the caravan, but their notice allows only one host; choosing Huang bars Jin, and the reverse, after past cases where the clans used caravans against each other. The coagglomeration of caravans splits so each group goes to one clan and stations around the villages rather than entering them. ^{ch. 241}

The mountain is blessed with gold everywhere, and Jin clan dress shows gold trim as the mountain’s characteristic among Southern Border clan attire. ^{ch. 242}
