Flickering Light Grotto-Heaven

Spectral Soul Demon Venerable is lured toward a nearby grotto-heaven that narration names Flickering Light grotto-heaven. Inside, its leader Liang Jing Jing trembles in fear. In the past, with the grotto-heaven hidden and condensed into a tiny spot, Spectral Soul Demon Venerable in his current state would not find it. As the fusion of the two heavens reaches its most intense moment, Flickering Light grotto-heaven is exposed as a heaven vein node. ^{ch. 2271}

Liang Jing Jing asks Fang Yuan for help and offers to contribute light heaven for contribution points to save the grotto-heaven. Narration explains that Flickering Light grotto-heaven had devoured many fragments of the immemorial nine heavens, yet its inner space remained too small. A certain generation’s Flickering Light Grotto Lord planned an artificial heaven, the source of light heaven. Later generations collected heavenly light and refined it until light heaven surpassed the original grotto-heaven space. ^{ch. 2271}

Fang Yuan decides he cannot save Flickering Light grotto-heaven, because defending it would mean fighting Spectral Soul Demon Venerable and risking exposure to Giant Sun Immortal Venerable and Star Constellation Immortal Venerable. Spectral Soul Demon Venerable destroys the entrance and slaughters inside. Liang Jing Jing hides in light heaven while cursing Fang Yuan for abandoning them. Fang Yuan later judges that refusing to save it was wise, because intervening would have triggered a later venerable fight and cost him the chance at rank nine heavenly secret Immortal Gu’s recipe. ^{ch. 2271}

Qin Ding Ling and Jun Shen Guang reach Flickering Light grotto-heaven and find Spectral Soul Demon Venerable rampaging inside. Six Gu Immortals fly out; rank eight light path Gu Immortal Liang Jing Jing is heavily injured and flees in tears while others defend her with their lives. With Heavenly Court help, survivors escape. Qin Ding Ling is lightly injured, Jun Shen Guang heavily injured, and only three Flickering Light Gu Immortals remain, one unconscious and two heavily injured. Spectral Soul Demon Venerable’s attention stays mostly on the grotto-heaven; he chases briefly, then returns to destroy it. ^{ch. 2272}

Qin Ding Ling later names Flickering Light grotto-heaven among heaven vein nodes of immemorial white heaven that Spectral Soul Demon Venerable is destroying, alongside heavenly chasms and heavenly pillars, and says Profound Literature grotto-heaven is the same kind of node. ^{ch. 2272}

Liang Jing Jing still has two Gu Immortals with her. Because Flickering Light grotto-heaven was destroyed, she needs cultivation resources badly. ^{ch. 2276}
