Stream Gu

Among Qing Mao Mountain’s three clans, Stream Gu is the Bai clan signature the same way Moonlight Gu is Gu Yue’s and Bear Strength Gu is Xiong’s. When Fang Yuan thinks about the three-clan battle merit board during the wolf tide, he lists Gu Yue Moonlight Gu, Xiong clan Bear Strength Gu, and Bai clan Stream Gu as the signatures that would not be exchangeable. ^{ch. 123}

Fang Yuan places Stream Gu with Moonlight Gu and Bear Strength Gu as the same kind of clan foundation Gu: not a well-known natural species, but a unique Gu the clan develops, so outsiders cannot fully decipher that clan’s strength. He also treats such clan Gu as new species created through reverse fusion rather than wild finds, and says that on that basis a clan can develop a strength unique to itself. ^{ch. 157}

Later, while studying clan recipes, Fang Yuan states that a clan keeps one or a few unique Gu that are not rare natural species, but new species made by reverse fusion, and that on that basis the clan can develop a strength unique to itself. He then names Gu Yue Moonlight Gu, Xiong Bear Strength Gu, and Bai Stream Gu as the same kind of case. ^{ch. 157}
