Moonwhirl Gu

Gu Yue Qing Shu first shows Moonwhirl Gu while training on Qing Mao Mountain: a green crescent insignia on his left palm, then a green moonblade with a curved flight path. ^{ch. 104} Fang Yuan later names the same Gu as the product of fusing Moonlight Gu with Whirlwind Gu, and says Qing Shu took that path. ^{ch. 106}

Form and rank

In use it appears as a green-coloured crescent insignia on the left palm. When Qing Shu pours light into it, the mark glows bright green before he launches the blade. ^{ch. 104}

No cited chapter calls Moonwhirl Gu rank one or rank two by name, and none give a Chinese glyph or feed. Its recipe sits among the common Moonlight Gu advancement routes listed beside Moonglow Gu and Moon Raiment. ^{ch. 106} Moon Raiment is rank two. ^{ch. 104} Moonglow Gu is rank two. ^{ch. 106} Moonwhirl Gu later serves as a base Gu for rank three fusion recipes. ^{ch. 156}

Moonline fusion

The stated recipe is Moonlight Gu fused with Whirlwind Gu. Fang Yuan calls this a common route among several ways to raise Moonlight Gu. Other routes on that same list produce Moonglow Gu, Moon Scar Gu, or Moon Raiment instead. ^{ch. 106} Whirlwind Gu has no dedicated page on this site yet, so the fusion material stays named in prose only.

Effect

The attack is still a moonblade, but the blade is green rather than blue, and its path in the air is curved instead of the ordinary straight cut. That curve makes the trajectory harder for an enemy to predict. ^{ch. 104 ch. 106}

In Qing Shu’s demonstration, the green moonblade leaves his left palm with a flick of the wrist after the crescent mark lights up. ^{ch. 104}

Gu Yue Qing Shu’s use

Qing Shu uses it as one of the three Gu he names while practising in front of Gu Yue Fang Zheng: Green vine Gu, Pine needle Gu, and Moonwhirl Gu. After that full demo, Fang Zheng rates such an attack as beyond what he could endure for ten breaths and calls Qing Shu the number one Gu Master among the rank two in that scene. ^{ch. 104}
