The green paste on the land spirit’s body is from rank seven Immortal Gu Earth Prison. Both are one-time expenditure Gu that vanish after one use, and together they sealed the land spirit. ^{ch. 602}

Remaining power

Hundreds of thousands of years of wear from time have weakened that seal, but a portion of Earth Net and Earth Prison power still remains on the statue. When Fang Yuan uses rank six Gruel Mud against the seal, Mo Yao names Gruel Mud a direct counter to that remaining strength, even though the two rank seven Gu sit one rank above it. After an early burst of melting, Earth Net and Earth Prison’s remaining power reacts and resists Gruel Mud, slowing the work past the land spirit’s neck. ^{ch. 602}
