Blood Poison Kerria

As Hu Immortal blessed land’s seventh earthly calamity, stalks of bright red flowers pierce the ground and grow to the size of a person’s face in a few breaths, with soft layered petals, at least six layers, and around a hundred petals each. Fang Yuan names them blood poison kerria. From budding to wilting they take only ten breaths. When they wilt, petals and roots become a pool of poison that pollutes the blessed land. Only wood path techniques are specialized at dealing with them, and any flower destroyed also turns into poisonous blood. The wilted flowers leave ankle-deep poisonous blood across the land, killing fox and wolf groups in numbers while rockmen with flowers grown on their bodies suffer pain and few deaths. ^{ch. 824}

Aftermath

Fang Yuan uses pulling water Immortal Gu to siphon the poisonous blood into his dead immortal aperture, then removes the poisoned surface soil with Tai Bai Yun Sheng and Hei Lou Lan over several days. ^{ch. 824} He later guesses the calamity related to his blood path grandmaster attainment. ^{ch. 826} Southern rockman tunnels that held many of the flowers would produce bloodstone ores after tens of years, and the weakened zhi forest has a chance of becoming a blood zhi forest. ^{ch. 827} That blood zhi forest later appears as a tall red lingzhi forest in the underground cave. ^{ch. 902} After the calamity, Hu Immortal blessed land gains blood path dao marks suited to some blood path life forms. ^{ch. 916}
