Chapter 932

The group travels more than a hundred and thirty kilometers down into Earth Trench, fighting sixteen skirmishes and taking injury despite avoiding battle where it can. About thirty kilometers short of the alliance’s one hundred and sixty kilometer limit, Dragon Commander Ye Cha halts them to search, this depth already reaching the snail’s habitat. No one objects. Flying on, Fang Yuan soon spots an earth shell snail, perhaps helped by luck raised earlier, and shows open joy. Dragon Commander Ye Cha tells him to check the surroundings first; the group finds a sizable yaksha octopus group guarding territory nearby. ^{ch. 932}

Fang Yuan warns that processing the mucus needs starlight, which will definitely alert the octopuses. Landlord Lei Yu complains he should have said sooner. Doctor Yin Xuan wonders if it can be hidden, but Fang Yuan insists it cannot, only that the octopuses must be cleared first. Dragon Commander Ye Cha relents. ^{ch. 932}

Scouting personally, he counts eight desolate beast octopuses, one an octopus king with rank seven battle strength. He assigns Lin Da Niao’s birds to encircle them, Granny Yuan to draw their attention, himself and Landlord Lei Yu to attack, and Doctor Yin Xuan to guard outside. Fang Yuan has nothing to do yet. The ambush deals the unsuspecting group a huge blow, and only two octopuses survive the panic. ^{ch. 932}

Dragon Commander Ye Cha then has Fang Yuan finish the last two octopuses. Fang Yuan traps the healthier one with Star Snake Rope, encircles the dying one with six illusion star bodies and kills it, then wins a hard battle against the other, severing its tentacles. Tired of waiting, Dragon Commander Ye Cha strikes and captures this last octopus alive to raise in his aperture. Every immortal zombie now sees that his star path skill alone ranks him an expert among rank sixes. ^{ch. 932}

Landlord Lei Yu falls silent, resentment hidden rather than gone, privately judging he might lose a solo fight against Fang Yuan. Fang Yuan then collects the star night mucus, asking the others not to probe his technique. The starlight sends this snail curling into its thick shell, too tough for most rank six Gu Immortals, and it dies if moved outside its habitat. The group meets three more earth shell snails on the way. Fang Yuan makes good use of two, gathering more star night mucus. The last has moved into the territory of an ancient desolate beast red flame snake, too dangerous to fight without an unhideable commotion. So the group lets it go and, under Fang Yuan’s quiet steering, edges nearer his true destination. ^{ch. 932}

Lin Da Niao then reports a massive group of yaksha octopuses ahead, thirty at first estimate. Such a group surely holds at least three ancient desolate beast commanders. This forces another change of direction; Fang Yuan can only memorize the spot. Detouring south east, the group finds a fourth snail, old looking and extremely slow, on ground thick with pulling earth path dao marks, proof to Fang Yuan that it is an ancient desolate beast, not an old one. Seeing his chance, he fakes being pulled into the wall, screaming warnings of hidden mouth earthworms, then fires Star Fire Escape and flies off despite Dragon Commander Ye Cha’s shout not to. A huge mouth earthworm bursts from the soil and swallows him as he cries for help, and the others, fearing how they would answer to Blazing Heaven Demoness, attack furiously to force it back into the gravity soil zone. ^{ch. 932}

Inside, Fang Yuan halts the earthworm’s shrinking with a star path move. He then teleports clear within three breaths using Fixed Immortal Travel. Dragon Commander Ye Cha’s group, still believing him trapped, keeps attacking the earthworm, unaware his teleport has drawn the huge octopus group spotted earlier. Turning into a yaksha octopus himself, Fang Yuan lures the enraged group toward his own escort, who mistake it for the octopuses fighting among themselves. They cannot leave him, so octopuses, zombies and earthworm are drawn into one chaotic battle. ^{ch. 932}
