Chapter 1047

Tang Song, rank seven Gu Immortal, reacts first, chasing Fang Yuan and shouting at him not to flee. Fang Yuan warns that only his mission stops him from killing Tang Song there, then bolts, and the other Eastern Sea Gu Immortals join the chase. Tang Song urges them on, saying the inheritance imprint is with Fang Yuan and only his capture wins the great expert’s inheritance, and the pursuit speeds up. Fang Yuan shoots flying sword Immortal Gu at Tang Song, distracting him so his nearly finished killer move must restart from nothing. Liu Qing Yu passes Tang Song to lead the pursuit. These lone cultivators, already faring poorly enough to be searching the turbulent flow sea for some opportunity, prize their time too highly to risk being trapped, and begin falling to the rear one by one, letting others take the lead. With Fang Yuan at the lead, the Eastern Sea Gu Immortals in pursuit cause a huge commotion in the sky. Fang Yuan privately plans to slightly change course toward the nearest regional wall. He never received an imprint himself, and suspects a deceptive move by the blood path demonic immortal left the true one with Liu Qing Yu, whose acting would then rival his own. Zhou Li, rank seven Gu Immortal, offers to carry Tang Song and Liu Qing Yu at great speed inside phantom waves, saying he must focus without distraction and needs them to restrain Fang Yuan, and both agree at once. The phantom waves lift all three together. Freed to attack, Tang Song and Liu Qing Yu wound Fang Yuan. Zhou Li judges that Fang Yuan holds only two rank seven Immortal Gu and otherwise relies on mortal killer moves. Though these Eastern Sea Gu Immortals would lose if they really fought the ancient cloud beasts head on, their threat to Fang Yuan runs higher. Confident of winning yet wary of an ambush from Fang Yuan’s unknown backers, the three hold back from a killing blow. Liu Qing Yu shouts that Fang Yuan means to enter the regional wall, Zhou Li adds that it will restrict rank seven Gu Immortals more than him, and Tang Song and Liu Qing Yu attack fiercely until bone shows through his wounds. Fang Yuan warns that if he dies, his clan will make them pay. Tang Song challenges that he knows Eastern Sea’s righteous forces deeply and has never heard of this clan, but Fang Yuan refuses to explain and threatens to detonate his own soul rather than be soul searched. Fearing an unknown enemy more than a known one, the three conclude that only a super force like Song clan could have set the ancient cloud beasts on him. Their attacks slow, giving Fang Yuan time to recover. As the regional wall, which Fang Yuan had originally sat very close to, comes within reach, Zhou Li attacks. ^{ch. 1047}
