Finding Wisdom

Carefree Wisdom Heart is born, and Ren Zu, no longer able to hold knowledge in his own burst mind, has her and Great Strength True Martial store it for him instead. Their third attempt at the knowledge path still comes up short. Hope Gu offers to awaken an aperture inside Ren Zu that can hold knowledge directly, and humility Gu enlarges it further once it opens. Even with the aperture full, a fourth attempt deep into Qian Kun Crystal Wall still fails to turn up wisdom Gu, and when they return a large part of their ink-text path has faded under the long search. The inkman elder tells them wisdom Gu is deliberately hiding, and that if it is still inside the wall at all it can only be in Primordial Domain, the wall’s most mysterious region, a place even the inkmen have only heard of. ^{ch. 2176}

Searching for a way in, Carefree Wisdom Heart finds right Gu and wrong Gu grown on her palms, and Great Strength True Martial calls them ordinary things beside his own authority Gu and asks what use they could possibly be. She argues that a path built from knowledge which stays right at every time and place, rather than shifting with when and where it is judged, could reach Primordial Domain, but no such knowledge turns up. His strong Gu calls the effort wasted, insisting the world has only ever held strong and weak and never right or wrong, so nothing can be sorted that way. ^{ch. 2176}

Told that everything in the wall is logical simply because it exists or once existed, Carefree Wisdom Heart answers that this is the true meaning of a thing’s existence, and that grasping true meaning would explain right, wrong and everything else, so the three begin digging for it. As she pursues it, three new Gu grow on Carefree Wisdom Heart in turn, serious Gu, learning Gu and talent Gu. With their help she finally grasps true meaning, though she finds it cannot be spoken or written down. Filled with it, she lays a wider, sturdier path of ink text, and the three walk it into Primordial Domain. There they find wisdom Gu at last. Wisdom Gu is left helpless that Ren Zu found it despite hiding so deeply, and self Gu bites a piece off it in the end. ^{ch. 2177}
