Primeval elder Gu is a rank three Gu used to store primeval stones, with a cloudy figure of an old man inside.
Shang Ya Zi tosses Fang Yuan this Gu while paying for recipes. It can seal up to a million primeval stones. After Fang Yuan receives it, they refine it together. The Gu changes owners: the old man in the clouds had been looking at Shang Ya Zi, and then smiles toward Fang Yuan instead, following him no matter which way the Gu is turned. If the stones inside are few, the old man frowns and looks bitter. If the amount is just nice, he is expressionless. The closer the stones get to the limit, the more he smiles. Shang Ya Zi says he bought this one at auction for six thousand six hundred primeval stones, and Fang Yuan treats that as a fair price for a rare rank three Gu. ch. 268

They spend sixty-seven hundred primeval stones to purchase one. Fang Yuan later places half of more than nine hundred thousand primeval stones into her primeval elder Gu under a new agreement. ch. 272

Fang Yuan reviews the Gu in his aperture. Near blood skull Gu sits a crystal ball with thick mist forming an old man who carries a walking cane and shows a calm expression after half the stones are taken out. Wei Yang’s loan
Wei Yang passes Fang Yuan a primeval elder Gu as spare money to use for now, calling it a loan rather than a gift and naming himself Fang Yuan’s creditor. The elderly figure’s cheerful expression shows this one had nearly a million primeval stones. Shang Xin Ci also takes out a primeval elder Gu. In hers the cloud elder is frowning and upset, from which one can deduce around a hundred to three hundred thousand primeval stones. Fang Yuan accepts both and says he will repay them later. ch. 306
