Golden Moon Gu

Gu worm in Reverend Insanity

III

Golden Moon Gu is a rank three Gu refined on the Moonglow Gu line: the same ten-step range, with attack power raised again and the crescent grown to nearly half a man tall.

Browsing rank three fusion recipes in the Gu Yue clan secret room, Fang Yuan finds only three recipes worth using on the base of his own Moonglow Gu: Golden Moon, Frost Moon, and Illusory Moon Gu. Golden Moon keeps the same ten-step shooting distance but raises the attack power once again; once shot, the golden crescent moon comes out nearly half a man tall, with a strong imposing aura. ch. 156

Passed over for feeding cost

Fang Yuan does not want any of the Golden Moon, Frost Moon, or Illusory Moon recipes, because all three consume large amounts of moon orchid flower petals, which spoil within days and would be hard to keep supplied once he leaves the clan to roam the world. ch. 156

One of the moon line’s three classics

The next day, reading the Blood Moon Gu recipe, Fang Yuan compares it against Golden Moon, Frost Moon, and Illusionary Moon Gu, the three classics of that line, whose refinement recipes run to almost a hundred thousand words of experience against Blood Moon Gu’s few thousand. He picks Blood Moon Gu instead, because it is far easier to feed than Golden Moon, Frost Moon, and Illusionary Moon, which still want moon orchid petals. ch. 157
