Yi Qi Zi, fully Unified Essence Yi Qi Zi, is a legendary immemorial desolate beast whose body is the Qi of Unified Essence and whose aperture can yield immortal essence stones.
Fei Wu tells Giant Sun Immortal Venerable that after Fei tribe developed in a fierce area he took Yi Qi Zi from its depths, that the legendary immemorial beast had recovered enough to trick them into a beast tide that wiped the tribe, and that the tribe still eradicated its will and sealed it. Yao Huang recognizes the name as a legendary immemorial desolate beast said to have been killed by Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable in the earliest history of humanity. ch. 2297
Appearance
When sane, Unified Essence Yi Qi Zi takes human form hard to tell apart from actual people. When the three qi fall out of balance it becomes a lump of the Qi of Unified Essence, floating higher with more heaven qi or sinking with more earth qi. Fei tribe’s seal leaves it as a huge black pearl large as an elephant, with a smooth surface and a deeply hidden aura. ch. 2298
Unified Essence and stones
Its full name is Unified Essence Yi Qi Zi. Fei Wu says it is a very special legendary immemorial desolate beast, somewhat similar to Di Zang Sheng later on. When a Gu Master balances heaven, earth, and human qi at immortal ascension, the condensed qi lump is the Qi of Unified Essence, and that process is the root of Yi Qi Zi’s creation: as long as Gu Masters ascend, that qi is produced and the beast can be reborn even if destroyed. A beastman great expert granted it intelligence in the immemorial era, so it gained an immortal aperture and rose into a legendary immemorial beast. Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable captured it while declaring it killed outside, then used it to produce immortal essence stones; under Star Constellation Immortal Venerable it suicided in despair, after which her assimilation with the Dao let Heavenly Court keep producing stones another way. ch. 2297
Favor, sanity, and retrieval
Its body of Unified Essence lets it receive heaven’s will’s favor at all times, but failing to balance the three qi does not kill it; it loses rationality instead. When sane its immortal aperture produces immortal essence; when insane it produces immortal essence stones that contain heaven’s will. Primordial Origin used that trait and only distributed rank six stones; after the suicide, Star Constellation’s altered heaven’s will could only support rank six production. Fei Wu found it insane and buried in a fierce area’s sixth ring, and Fei tribe sealed it there. Giant Sun Immortal Venerable extracts the elephant-sized black pearl and finds many rank eight immortal essence stones deep in its aperture under heaven’s will suppressing human will. ch. 2298
