Successful Escape
Song Zi Xing flees under a taunting crowd. Blood rainbow flash opens a growing gap on his pursuers, but the ten sects are unworried since Illusion Garden, the Immortal Gu House, is already in place around him. They hold back and use lone cultivators as cannon fodder instead, meant to probe his methods and drain the stored immortal essence that keeps a blood path Gu Immortal’s battle strength up. ch. 849
Two rank seven Gu Immortals from Heavenly Lotus Sect finally call for the attack to begin, since sustaining the Immortal Gu House is too costly to prolong. In total, twenty Gu Immortals had ambushed him. Vicious Lightning Fiend and Dan Qiao served as bait, two Heavenly Lotus Sect rank sevens secretly ran the Immortal Gu House, and sixteen more closed in to fight him directly. Someone then realizes his real body never left Blood Tu Su, left floating untouched while their attention was on the decoy, and that Vicious Lightning Fiend and Dan Qiao are in danger inside it. Enraged at being fooled, the immortals charge Blood Tu Su. Three breaths later, Song Zi Xing dismisses it himself and flies free laughing in a bloody rainbow. ch. 849
Dan Qiao is dead, his corpse held in Song Zi Xing’s hand. Vicious Lightning Fiend lies comatose and heavily injured, guarded by only one very weak lightning deity, and might have died too had the immortals arrived even slightly later. Song Zi Xing is also heavily injured, his left arm completely severed at the shoulder. Blood Tu Su had sealed its interior off as its own area, and his methods had kept both men from calling outside. ch. 849
Killing Dan Qiao and downing Vicious Lightning Fiend while surrounded is a huge humiliation for the Gu Immortals, and furious, they attack him with everything they have. Song Zi Xing evades most of it with blood rainbow flash again. He then detonates Dan Qiao’s corpse as a returned gift, and the blast sends the immortals flying, leaves him unharmed at its center behind his own shining dao marks, and cracks Illusion Garden itself. ch. 849
He vanishes again beyond their sight, and the two Heavenly Lotus Sect rank sevens explain the crack: his violent blood dragon bat, stationed outside, had crashed into Illusion Garden and self-detonated together with his own attack from within. The bat is an ancient desolate beast with a rank seven Gu Immortal’s battle strength. Illusion Garden, maintained by only two Gu Immortals who could not react in time, let him force open his chance. The immortals refuse to give up, and seventeen of them chase him across True Yang mountain range while one stays behind to tend Vicious Lightning Fiend. The battle has fallen into Song Zi Xing’s own tempo. ch. 849
Rather than flee outside at once, Song Zi Xing resolves to stay hidden in True Yang mountain range, swearing revenge for the lost bat. The chase’s disturbed beasts help him slip away in the chaos. ch. 849
Three days later at night, a dim blood-red light flies from True Yang mountain range, and a golden bell phantom snaps shut around it. An injured Gu Immortal demands where he thinks he is going, but Song Zi Xing vanishes from inside, leaving only a palm and part of a forearm. Realizing it is a fake, the Gu Immortal flies off in another direction. Long afterward, Fang Yuan appears quietly, masked and wrapped in smoke, and looks at the arm inside the bell with an expression of joy. ch. 849
