Earth roots

Every year at a set period, earth roots grow in tassel desert like grass or willow branches. They are soft but durable, and they may be long or short. Their grade spans mortal materials through rank eight immortal materials. At peak growth they cover the whole desert; when wind blows, the field looks from above like a sea of earth roots with grand waves.
