Clan head pavilion and treasury
Fang Yuan destroys the clan head pavilion at the oasis center; it is the clan’s most important place and holds ancestors’ tablets behind strong defensive Gu. The elderly clan leader claims Lan clan has stayed neutral for many generations and offers compensation. ch. 694 After the slaughter, the oasis is thick with smoke and fire, and Fang Yuan finishes feeding Woman’s Heart there before searching the ruins. Under the collapsed pavilion he opens an underground treasury of primeval stones, Gu refinement materials, and mortal Gu, then reaches a deep breeding cave where Lan clan raises sand gulls and keeps a house-sized egg on a central stone table. ch. 695
