Opening one's horizon

Ren Zu’s fourth child, Boundless Forest Samsara, falls from the tree and does not follow him, and is trapped inside Ordinary Abyss, where she meets a miniman and the two become inseparable friends. Asking after his family, she learns he calls a well his former home. Looking inside, she finds a whole hidden city of minimen, with houses, markets and flowers, living happily together. He tells her they exiled him as a monster, since he insisted their world was only a well and their mountain only a small mound. He points out Miniscule Mountain, and she finds it small enough to fit in her palm. ^{ch. 1158}

Amused, she decides to shout the truth down to them herself. Her breath becomes a tornado in the well, her spit a downpour, her voice thunder. The minimen panic, believing the sky itself has turned furious, but she gives up, exhausted, without changing a single mind. The miniman explains that his people simply believe the well is the whole world and the life inside it is all there is. Asked why he alone climbed out, he says only after realizing how small he was did he need to see how big the world outside truly is. ^{ch. 1158}
