Perceivable Dao is a rank six information path investigative Immortal Gu that shows a target's dao mark types and counts.
In a turbulent-flow bubble inheritance, Fang Yuan saves a single surviving rank six Immortal Gu from a dark green lump held by a bone-path skeleton. Fragmented thoughts name it Perceivable Dao. It is an information path investigative Immortal Gu with a niche effect: it lets the user see what types of dao marks a target has and how many. ch. 1156
Appearance
It has a round head and a black segmented body. When activated it shines in starlight, and after use the starlight fades and it returns to black. ch. 1161
First test
On first use, starlight gathers into shining water over Fang Yuan’s body for more than ten breaths, then fades, and he receives counts of the dao marks in his body. Used on Immortal Gu, the starry water covers them but returns no result, because Immortal Gu hold Great Dao fragments rather than ordinary dao marks. On mortal Gu it works. On immortal materials it can sense dao marks, with higher immortal essence cost when the material is higher quality or not information path. Fang Yuan judges it cannot be used on Immortal Gu, costs more against conflicting dao marks in materials, and is slow and conspicuous when probing another Gu Immortal. ch. 1161
Use on desolate beast corpses
After capturing a shadowless horse, Fang Yuan uses Perceivable Dao on it and finds dark path and light path dao marks along with many enslavement path dao marks. Before selling two desolate beast corpses taken from Crazed Demon Cave, a monkey king and a tree python, he uses the Gu on them and finds they carry all sorts of dao marks at once, unlike a desolate beast’s usual single path. ch. 1177
