Belief Gu is named once in early Ren Zu lore as one of three Gu left in Rules and Regulation Gu's net with Attitude Gu and Suspicion Gu.
Jia Fu names Belief Gu when he continues a Ren Zu stretch after Rules and Regulation Gu have given Ren Zu strength and cost him wisdom. Ren Zu will not free the leftover Gu in the net, so they bet that once the net opens they will flee in three directions, and that only the Gu he captures will submit. Jia Fu’s aide guesses Ren Zu captures Attitude Gu. ch. 59
Naming in a later telling
Sources do not agree on the names of the three Gu left in the net.
Ren Zu grabs only Attitude Gu, which submits as a mask he cannot wear without a heart. ch. 87 The two tellings place Belief and Trust in the same leftover slot without equating the names.
