Fang Yuan's time path clone is a split-soul Gu Immortal body raised on time path, kept mainly to use the light of wisdom and manage the immortal aperture.
Fang Yuan uses a split soul method to divide a portion of his soul into a first split soul body. That clone undergoes tribulation outside the sovereign immortal aperture and becomes an immortal on time path.
