Zen lion's mane

One of the four entry tasks for a Refinement Path Convention requires refining earth treasury flower Gu. The third last step uses upstream grass matched with zen lion’s mane, together with the Gu refinement method. ^{ch. 828}

The needed technique is called one after another. Its purpose is to entwine every stalk of upstream grass with every strand of zen lion’s mane. For earth treasury flower Gu, a hundred stalks and strands must be woven together within thirty breaths; beyond that time, the Gu refinement fire burns the stalks and strands to ashes. ^{ch. 828}
