Addition Gu

An Immortal Gu floats before Fang Yuan with rank eight aura. The text names it rank eight rule path Immortal Gu Addition. Fang Yuan has already taken Ba Shi Ba’s Immortal Gu and soul, and this is Ba Shi Ba’s only rank eight Immortal Gu. ^{ch. 1791}

Appearance

It is like a cocoon, pitch black like iron rather than white. When held it feels cold and hard, metallic. The oval black cocoon has no mouth or holes. ^{ch. 1791}

Food and feeding

It consumes pearl thread water as food. Submerged in pearl thread water for eight days and nights, the Gu becomes full, and the next feeding is eighty years later. When Fang Yuan inspects it, thirty-six years remain until the next feeding, and Ba Shi Ba already has enough pearl thread water stocked. Feeding a rule path Immortal Gu on that water forced Ba Shi Ba to keep a water path resource point in a mostly rule path aperture. ^{ch. 1791}

Place among rule path Gu

Fang Yuan had expected Ba Shi Ba’s rank eight rule path Immortal Gu to be consecutive Gu, because Ba Shi Ba’s strongest killer move was the consecutive hit method. Instead it is addition Gu. Consecutive Gu is more famous and more practical in many situations; with rank eight consecutive Gu, Fang Yuan could link killer moves across paths into consecutive moves. Addition Gu disappoints him relative to that hope. Beside this rank eight Gu, Ba Shi Ba also held some rank six and seven Immortal Gu, including two rank seven number Gu named One and Three. ^{ch. 1791}
